Preparatory Courses
The preparatory college (Studienkolleg) of the Ecumenical Study Institute offers courses to prepare prospective students for a program of studies in technical subjects or in the mathematical natural sciences.
Students in the preparatory courses are registered at the Ruhr-University Bochum, and have to pay a social services fee (Sozialbeitrag) to the institution amounting to about 325 Euro per semester. After enrolment (Immatrikulation), students are entitled to use university facilities such as the dining hall, libraries, computer centre, student residences and so on. Furthermore, students are entitled to use public transport services throughout the Land of North-Rhine-Westphalia.
The Studienkolleg Bochum is situated on a small campus with its own students’ residence as well as apartments for students and staff. The institutions of higher education (universities and colleges) in Bochum, Dortmund, Duisburg and Essen are easy to reach via public transport.
